Using Hegel's Introduction to the Philosophy of History (Chapters 1-3):
  1. find one difficult paragraph (cite chapter, page, paragraph, and lines)
  2. within the paragraph, find one difficult sentence or line (line number=?)
  3. in one sentence, state what you understand from the line (then the paragraph)
  4. state the difficulty you have with the sentence/line
    1. vocabulary
    2. sentence construction and pattern
    3. lack of understanding the question addressed in the line (paragraph)

  5. what is the topic or subject of the line (paragraph)
  6. what is one question addressed in the line (paragraph)
  7. context the line/sentence, the topic, the questions, the issues with respect to the preceding and succeeding lines/sentences of the paragraph
  8. context the paragraph, with respect to the preceding and succeeding paragraphs
  9. how has your understanding of the line (and perhaps the paragraph) changed since a?
