OhioLINK History of Philosophy Website
Professor Clarence Uher
Assignment: Select one article from The Philosopher's Index, and provide a photocopy, or printout if you use the CD ROM, of the article abstract. Based on your evaluation of the abstract, write a one page proposal from which you will generate a research paper (Macro #3). Most topics will be permitted, however your critical assessment of the article will be expected, so any background research you have done for previous papers will be helpful. If an abstract is not available, you may include a brief summary of the article you are using. If you can not find an article of interest, you may use a chapter from a book. If you do use a chapter from a book, a brief summary will be required in your proposal.
Purpose: Abstracts are useful for expediting your research of the ever increasing scholarship that is generated on any given topic. This Micro is designed to give you experience in using abstracts effectively for research.
Due Date: Friday, April 25, 1997.
